Introduction to Indian Classical Dance
Wednesday, June 27, 2018 6:30 - 8:30 at the Velveteen Serpent
Introduction to indian classical dance - Kathak. Kathak is one of the major dance forms , from north India. It is accompanied by bells which are tied around the ankle also known as
“Ghungroo” . This dance style has a lot of grace to offer along with extensive hand movements known as “hastas” and rhythmic footwork.
The attendees will learn basic hand movements and foot work along with a short dance choreography on a “shloka” . They also have an opportunity to continue to learn the dance style post the workshop in Utah with the school with instructor @sonali Loomba
About the teacher :
Nidhika Loomba has been learning this dance style under her gurus Sir Hari and Smt chetana in INDIA and has been performing at various stages around the globe. She has founded a dance school along with her sister Sonali Loomba to preserve and promote this beautiful dance style and to have maximum people learn this form.
She is based out of Washington DC and is travelling to various states to promote this dance style.

Nine week series with Wendy. ATS® (American Tribal Style) dance: an improvisational dance style with an extensive vocabulary of both fast and slow movements. ATS® can be danced in a group/troupe, or as a solo artist. ATS® fast vocabulary incorporates the playing of zills accompanying the movements.
Nine week series for $80.00, or drop-ins for $10.00 per class.
No prior dance experience required. All levels and skill sets welcome.

Hot Pot ITS Level 1 Exposure Workshop (Fast Vocab)

Come get a look at what I.T.S. is all about, and get moving after the Thanksgiving holiday! This workshop will give you a peek into the magical world of Hot Pot vocab, and is sure to get you wanting more! In this workshop, we will cover a few of the stall moves, combinations and formations within the Level 1 Vocab. A little bellydance experience is helpful, but not necessary.
Workshop length: 3 hours

is dynamic system of group Tribal Belly Dance, created by Amy Sigil, and made World famous by her performing group UNMATA. Hot Pot I.T.S. can be danced to literally any music and carries the visual flawlessness of months of practiced choreography. Hot Pot is a clean and edgy modern fusion, deeply flavored by traditional Belly Dance, Hula, Flamenco, and even Hip Hop. Hot Pot has two distinct sets of "Vocabularies", one for FAST music and one for SLOW music. You will learn visual "Cues" and "Clues" that set off sequences of combinations, group dynamics, and formation changes.
