Introduction to Indian Classical Dance

Wednesday, June 27, 2018  6:30 - 8:30 at the Velveteen Serpent 

Introduction to indian classical dance - Kathak. Kathak is one of the major dance forms , from north India. It is accompanied by bells which are tied around the ankle also known as
“Ghungroo” . This dance style has a lot of grace to offer along with extensive hand movements known as “hastas” and rhythmic footwork.

The attendees will learn basic hand movements and foot work along with a short dance choreography on a “shloka” . They also have an opportunity to continue to learn the dance style post the workshop in Utah with the school with instructor @sonali Loomba

About the teacher :
Nidhika Loomba has been learning this dance style under her gurus Sir Hari and Smt chetana in INDIA and has been performing at various stages around the globe. She has founded a dance school along with her sister Sonali Loomba to preserve and promote this beautiful dance style and to have maximum people learn this form.
She is based out of Washington DC and is travelling to various states to promote this dance style.
